three month mark [11/10/2006 19:31:12]

I haven't written much about my twelve one-year goals lately. The three month mark is fast approaching. Time flies.

I've mostly been working on the goal of increasing my salary: first by this javascript game tutorial campaign, second by buying another hosting company, and third by moving to a ticket system, so that other people can help with support and I can focus more on building the business. So far none of that's put any money in my pocket, but... Well, it's like planting seeds.

I had hoped my lifetime hosting offer would sell out quickly and take care of the Leukemia Foundation donations and the cash for my savings account. But sales have been slow. I just don't have a good way to reach new buyers yet. I'm going to have to get creative.

I have been reading quite a bit. Just recently finished the sixty-trillion page How to Make War - not really my favorite topic, but it was interesting. Unfortunately, Lisey's Story jumped into my basket at the supermarket checkout, and I couldn't resist picking up Lean Solutions (on solving customer problems) and Get Out of Your Own Way (on the brain and productivity, but, it turns out, not really what I was hoping for). Other than those three, I've been good, though, and even if the stack of books never seems to change, I know it is slowly getting smaller.

Other than that, not much progress to report.
