baked potato bags [12/30/2006 23:43:34]

So, I finally talked my mom into setting up a website.

She's been making and selling crafts for years now, mostly decorations and stuffed animals. But lately she's been doing a lot of sewing and embroidery, and she's been making this little thing called a baked potato bag.

Basically, it's this little bag made out of fabric that helps you bake potatoes in the microwave. I'm not much on potatoes, but I told her I'd try it out with sweet potatoes instead. Instead of poking them or cutting them full of holes, you just put them in a paper towel and put it inside this bag and then instead of exploding and getting all dried out, they come out... well, like the kind of thing you'd get in a nice restaurant. It's really kind of cool. I'm sure there's some simple physics behind why it works, but I don't know how to explain it.

People keep buying them from her, and then coming back and buying more for their friends, so I talked her into setting up shop on the internet. She's all hooked up with paypal and adwords and she even learned how to make her own first web page with nvu.

Anyway, if you like baked potatoes or know someone who does, hop on over to bakedpotatobag.com and try one of these crazy things out. Tell her Michal sent you. :)
